The hurricane was about 225 miles south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico, and moving north-northwest at about 6 mph.
Officials warned that Willa will still be a “dangerous hurricane” by the time it reaches the coast of Mexico Tuesday. The storm is expected to produce between 5 and 10 inches of rain, flash flooding and landslides across parts of western Jalisco, western Nayarit and southern Sinaloa states, as well as about 2 to 4 inches of rain inland.
